On Menstrual Hygiene Day, Elkheir Foundation proudly commissioned the Pilot Period Box at Government Girls Secondary School Junior Section Independence Way, Kaduna, marking a key milestone in our commitment to menstrual health and equity. The box is stocked with approximately 500 sanitary pads, ensuring immediate support for girls in the participating school.

Our goal is to break the silence around menstruation and provide practical solutions that empower girls. This pilot will help us understand the impact of consistent access to menstrual products and guide our plans to scale up the initiative., said Munira Musa Ladan, [Strategic Advisor] at Elkheir Foundation.
The Pilot Period Box is just the beginning of our broader mission to create a #PeriodFriendlyWorld.
The pilot phase of this initiative will run for several months. During this period, we will closely track usage and assess the program’s impact on menstrual health and education outcomes. If successful, we are prepared to scale the initiative to other schools, extending much-needed menstrual support to more girls. To maintain accessibility, the box will be replenished regularly, and a monthly follow-up system has been established to monitor its use and ensure effectiveness.

The Principal of GGSS JS expressed her gratitude: “We are deeply grateful to Elkheir Healthcare Foundation for bringing the Pilot Period Box to our school. This initiative not only addresses a critical need but also empowers our girls with knowledge and dignity. We look forward to the positive impact it will have on their well-being and education.”
